Jürgen Drogies has taken an in-depth look at the recently released ARC 2 in his blog and is delighted by the results.

For all of those who have little time to read the full review, he's also prepared a short version:

"Already with the ARC 1, IK Multimedia offered the possibility to adjust the listening environment in a computer based studio to suit to the conditions of any room, enabling neutral listening.

The difference to other systems which come as part of active speakers or amplifiers is clearly recognisable. The new version, ARC 2, with its four times superior resolution makes it even clearer and offers further editing possibilities thanks to the option of adjusting the frequency curves manually. Fewer measurement points and a shorter measurement phase make the usage easier. I've not had the chance to test a completely untreated room but it seems logical to me that the results in a room which is at least partially corrected (like mine) must be better. I've become convinced of ARC 2's benefits and will definitely
carry on using it.

The low price of € 249,99 is splendid  (the first version of ARC cost € 689 at the launch).

With layout and graphic programs, it's common to say 'What you see is what you get' when the presentation on display screen corresponds to the version which gets printed at a later stage. To sum up ARC 2, I'd say 'What you hear is what you get'."

Die ARC 2 Raumkorrektur konnte mich überzeugen und ich werde sie auf jeden Fall weiter benutzen.

Erfreulich ist der niedrigere Preis von € 249,99 (die erste Version kostete anfangs € 689,–).

Bei Layout- und Grafikprogrammen sagt man “What you see is what you get”, wenn die Bildschirmdarstellung der späteren Print-Version entspricht. Zu IK Multimedia ARC 2 möchte ich zusammenfassend sagen: “What you hear is what you get”."
